Submitted by THK on Wed, 01/28/2009 - 20:09.

Modern conservation planning is moving beyond site-by-site analysis to new frameworks that organize protected areas in to cohesive networks. The Keitt Lab has greater than 15 years experience in landscape connectivity and applications to conservation plans. We will be hosting a one day workshop on landscape connectivity analysis with applications to reserve network design. The workshop will take place March 9th. The goal of the workshop is to exchange ideas and identify areas of potential collaboration in ongoing conservation planning activities. We plan to keep the number of participants to a minimum to facilitate discussion and progress in developing potential projects. Attendance is by invitation only.

We are still setting the agenda. I will give an opening talk outlining connectivity research in the Keitt Lab. We hope to have a small number of addtional presentations introducing challenges in current conservation efforts in Texas. I will be posting a full schedule and directions shortly.
