The house is located in Clarksville/Old West Austin near the city center. It is a short commute to the UT campus and right on several bus routes including the UT shuttle. You have everything you need within walking distance (grocery, pharmacy, great restaurants and cafes). Three blocks away is Mathews Elementary, one of the top rated schools in Austin (2009 "exemplary"). A bit further walking gets you to the Whole Foods shopping area and the west edge of downtown.
